Neyluma is a natural-contact hybrid mattress. Wool, cotton and natural latex against your body; a pocket-spring core underneath. Two sides, each set to its own firmness, by hand, before the bed ships. No electronics. No app. No layer we can't account for.

Why we are building it
A mattress is the most used object you own, and the one you know least about.
You can't read the label
"Premium foam." "Cooling technology." "Multi-zone support." None of it is a specification. You are asked to spend a thousand dollars on adjectives, and the first time you learn what is actually inside is when it arrives.
It was never built for two
Two people, one slab, one firmness. Somebody loses. Most brands answer this with a motor, an app and a subscription — a machine in your bed that can stop working.
Natural is a word, not a claim
A cotton cover on a synthetic bed is still a synthetic bed. What matters is which layers your body actually touches, and whether anyone will name them.
The architecture
Nine layers. Each one does a job,
and each one gets named.
The order matters more than any single material. Natural fibres and natural latex sit where your body makes contact; the engineering sits below, where it belongs. Exact compositions, masses and sources are published with the product — not before it is proven.

Organic cotton knit cover
The surface. Undyed organic cotton, knitted, no polyester backing. Down to the thread and the zipper, every component is declared.

Wool and cotton quilt
The first thing you feel. Real fibre loft instead of a foam pillow-top, quilted into the cover with no undisclosed finish.

Independent fire barrier
Specified without fiberglass, as its own layer, with its construction disclosed by the maker. Fire performance is tested on the finished mattress, not on a swatch.

Natural latex comfort cassette
Where your shoulder and hip actually land. Natural latex, not memory foam — it comes back when you move instead of holding the print of the last hour. This is the layer that is set per side.

Firmer latex transition
The handover. It carries your load from the soft contact layer into the springs so the bed catches you gradually rather than in two steps.

Natural-fibre insulator
A felted pad of natural fibre between the latex and the coils. You never feel the spring unit through the comfort layers, and the latex is not worn from beneath.

Pocket-spring support core
Individually pocketed springs with a reinforced perimeter. Each spring moves on its own, so one sleeper turning does not move the other, and the edge stays usable instead of collapsing when you sit on it.

Base pad
Protects the spring core from the slats below and keeps the whole assembly stable across a bed frame that is never perfectly flat.

Cotton-canvas base panel
Cotton canvas, no PVC. If there is any anti-slip treatment at all, its chemistry is declared like everything else.
Layer order and function are final. Exact thicknesses, densities, masses, chemistry and sources are held while we run supplier selection and validation, and will be published in full with the first release.
The object
One mattress. Not a range.
Most brands sell you three firmnesses and let you guess. We are building a single bed and putting the work into making it right, then letting you tune the side you sleep on. One product means one bill of materials, one test programme, one golden sample to hold the factory to — and nothing hiding behind a "good, better, best" table.

Two sides
Two bodies. One bed.
Two different beds.
A couple rarely shares a spine. The comfort layer of a Neyluma is a cassette, and it can be set differently left and right — so one side can be softer than the other without splitting the mattress into two mattresses pushed together.
Mechanical, not electronic
The adjustment lives in the materials, not in a pump. Nothing to plug in, nothing to update, nothing to pay monthly, nothing that fails in year four and takes the bed with it.
Medium-firm as the starting point
The bed is designed around a medium-firm sensation, because that is where most sleepers and most backs are comfortable. Softer and firmer are configurations of the same architecture, not different products.
Changeable after you buy
If one side is wrong, the right answer is to change that side — not to return an entire mattress and start over. Building the comfort layer as a cassette is what makes that possible. Terms will be published before the first order.
Principles
What this bed will not contain.
Most of what makes a mattress good is a decision to leave something out. These are written into the specification we send to manufacturers, not into the marketing afterwards.
No fiberglass
The fire barrier is an independent, declared construction. Fiberglass is excluded by specification, not by hope.
No undeclared treatment
Every finish, binder, adhesive and coating is named, with its data sheet. "Proprietary treatment" is not an acceptable answer from a supplier, and it will not be one to you.
No gel, no phase-change coating, no marketing layers
If a layer exists only to be mentioned in the product description, it is not in the bed.
No electronics, no app, no subscription
A mattress should outlive a firmware roadmap.
No silent substitution
Once the specification is frozen, no material, source, factory or process changes without a written approval and a re-test. This is the single clause most brands never sign.
No stock we haven't sold
Runs are made against real orders. That is why there are waves instead of an always-on "buy now" button, and why we are not discounting a bed that does not exist yet.
Standard of proof
And what we will not tell you.
There is a claim ladder behind this brand: a list of every sentence we are allowed to say, what it takes to earn it, and who signs it off. Most of the list is still closed. Rather than borrow the industry's vocabulary in the meantime, here is what we are refusing to say.
- That you will fall asleep faster.
- That it raises your deep sleep, your REM or your HRV.
- That it treats back pain, insomnia or apnea.
- That it keeps you cool all night.
- That nine out of ten people prefer it.
- That it is clinically proven, eco-friendly, or the best mattress in the world.
What we will say
It is a medium-firm hybrid. Each side is configurable. It contains natural latex, wool and cotton over a pocket-spring core. Its composition will be published. It has no electronics and no subscription. Everything beyond that waits for a test, a protocol and a number we can show you.
How it gets built
Seven gates between a drawing
and something you can buy.
Neyluma is at the beginning of this sequence, not the end. Nothing is sold to anyone before the last gate closes. This is the whole schedule, published while it is still inconvenient.

Complete bill of materials, certificates, process description and a signed change-control clause — before a single sample is cut.

A handful of coded units, built to the specification, audited against it dimension by dimension.

Bench measurement, pressure mapping, thermal and humidity behaviour, motion transfer, edge, fatigue and long-hold compression. Real sleepers, not just instruments.

Fire testing on the final assembly as it will be sold, plus a line-by-line legal review of every claim on this website.

Pilot run
A small production batch on the real line, with the real packaging, to prove the factory can repeat itself.

A signed golden sample and a release dossier. Only now does anyone take an order.

The founding list
The first run will be small.
Beds are made against orders, so the first wave is limited by what a pilot line can produce. The list gets the test results, the published composition, the price and the allocation before anyone else — and no marketing in between.

Can I buy one now?
No. Neyluma is in supplier selection and prototyping. Nothing is for sale, no deposits are taken, and no price is published. The founding list is how you find out when that changes.
What will it cost?
The price follows the bill of materials, and the bill of materials is not signed. Quoting a number today would only mean choosing one later to fit it. The list sees the price first, with the specification next to it.
Where will it be made?
That is exactly what gates G0 and G1 decide. Manufacturers in Europe and Asia are being consulted against the same specification and the same tests. Whoever is selected is named on the product page — country, site and all.
Is it a "natural" mattress?
It is a hybrid with natural fibres and natural latex in the layers you touch, and a steel spring core underneath. Calling the whole object "natural" would be a marketing claim we cannot support, so we describe it layer by layer instead.
Why only one size at launch?
Every size is a separate tooling set, a separate fire test and a separate validation. Doing one properly is a better use of a first run than doing five approximately.
Who is behind this?
A small, independent, founder-run project. No investors to satisfy, and no reason to ship before the bed is right.
